Lowell Randel

Lowell Randel currently serves as Executive Director of the new Agricultural Policy Advocacy Program within the Davis College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources at Texas Tech University and Adjunct Professor in the Department of Agricultural and Applied Economics. He has over 25 years of experience working on agricultural policy issues in Washington, DC in the public and private sectors, and has actively worked on every Farm Bill since 1995.

Prior to joining Texas Tech University he founded The Randel Group, a consulting firm focused on food and agricultural policy. Lowell’s public sector work includes serving as the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Congressional Relations at the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and Director of Legislative and Intergovernmental Affairs for the Research, Education and Economic Mission Area within USDA. 

Lowell holds a B.S. in Agricultural Economics and Master of Agriculture in Agricultural Development, both from Texas A&M University.  He also holds a Juris Doctorate from George Mason University School of Law.
