Keith Fuglie, Ph.D.
Adjunct Professor, Agricultural and Applied Economics
Dr. Keith Fuglie is an adjunct professor in Texas Tech's Department of Agricultural and Applied Economics. Fuglie spent 25 years with the Economic Research Service (ERS), USDA, where he conducted research on the economics of technical change and science policy for agriculture. During his career, he also served as a senior economist with USAID, the International Potato Center (CIP), the White House Council of Economic Advisors, and has consulted for the World Bank and the Food and Agriculture Organization. His work has evaluated constraints to agricultural growth, the impact of agricultural research on income generation, food security, and natural resource use, and methods for prioritizing research.
Fuglie has been named a senior fellow of the National Center for Food and Agricultural Policy, a Fellow of the Agricultural and Applied Economics Association, an Honorary Life Member of the International Association of International Economists and received USDA’s top professional honor, the Secretary’s Award. He received his M.S. and Ph.D. in Agricultural and Applied Economics from the University of Minnesota and a BA from Concordia College, Moorhead, Minnesota.
