WT-AWIS: West Texas Association for Women in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Agriculture, Math)         

WT-AWIS is recognized as a Texas Tech graduate student organization. Our chapter actively supports and encourages women of all ages and careers. We envision a day when women will participate fully in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Agriculture and Mathematics) through equal opportunity, pay equity, and recognition equivalent with their accomplishments.

WT-AWIS meets once a month during the academic year at La Diosa Cellars to socialize and support fellow women working toward graduate degrees in STEAM. We also offer volunteer opportunities that encourage local K-12 students to engage in STEAM topics of study and activities. Each spring, we recognize a select few of the amazing faculty and staff at Texas Tech University to receive COW and OWL awards.

Travel Funding:

WT-AWIS empowers students by funding student travel for the purpose of conducting research. The organization allows student's to travel across the globe through awarding the Student Travel Award. Students have express sincere appreciation for the support this award provides them, expanding their research opportunities.
