WT-AWIS: West Texas Association for Women in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Agriculture, Math)

main logo

WT-AWIS is recognized as a Texas Tech graduate student organization. Our chapter actively supports and encourages women of all ages and careers. We envision a day when women will participate fully in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Agriculture and Mathematics) through equal opportunity, pay equity, and recognition equivalent with their accomplishments.

WT-AWIS meets once a month during the academic year at La Diosa Cellars to socialize and support fellow women working toward graduate degrees in STEAM. We also offer volunteer opportunities that encourage local K-12 students to engage in STEAM topics of study and activities. Each spring, we recognize a select few of the amazing faculty and staff at Texas Tech University to receive COW and OWL awards.

Come learn about the different organizations that support and promote women's issues at Texas Tech. Find out what activities and resources they have to offer, and enjoy a glass of wine with a fun and friendly community of women in STEAM!
