Phi Alpha Theta

Welcome to the Zeta-Iota Chapter of Phi Alpha Theta - a national honor society devoted to the pursuit of history, service, and honor.

The Zeta-Iota Chapter continues this tradition with both graduate and undergraduate students, representing both Phi Alpha Theta national and the Texas Tech Department of History. Phi Alpha Theta offers various mentorship and service opportunities, along with several social events, in which students can connect and collaborate with university professors and leadership.

How to Join:

Undergraduate and graduate students must have a minimum 3.0 GPA (overall) and a 3.1 GPA (only history courses), along with a minimum of 12 history course hours. Members must also pay a $50 membership fee if accepted.

Application for membership opens in August of every academic year, and announcements will be posted via Tech Connect and through the History Department.
