Eric Sigmund, Esq., DipWSET
Eric Sigmund, Esq., DipWSET, is a seasoned wine industry professional with extensive
experience in winery operations, alcohol distribution and sales, education, and alcohol
compliance. He currently serves as a commercial operations director for Southern Glazer's
Wine and Spirits, Texas.
Prior to assuming his current role, Eric was the Director of Wine Education for Southern
Glazers, Texas. Before joining Southern Glazers, he served as the Chief Operating
Officer for Reddy Vineyards, a leading vineyard and boutique winery based in Brownfield,
Texas. In this capacity, Eric managed the build out of the company's estate winery,
led sales, marketing and distribution of the Reddy Vineyards estate wine portfolio,
and managed regulatory compliance in addition to other operational matters.
Previously, Eric served as an Associate Wine Buyer for Total Wine & More in Bethesda,
Maryland where he executed purchasing for the company's extensive French wine portfolio.
He was also a Wine Manager for Total Wines second-highest volume store.
Eric is a Wine and Spirits Education Trust (WSET) Diploma graduate, in addition to
holding numerous other industry certifications including Certified Sommelier (CMS),
French Wine Scholar (WSG), Spanish Wine Scholar (WSG), Certified Specialist of Wine
(SWE) and Certified Specialist of Spirits (SWE).
He is a graduate of Sonoma State University's Wine Business Institute, where he earned
an Executive Certificate in Wine Business Management. Before transitioning into the
adult beverage space, Eric worked as an international law attorney in Washington,
D.C. He earned his Juris Doctor from Syracuse University College of Law and a masters
degree from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University.
He is licensed to practice law in Texas and Maryland.
