Military & Veteran Programs will recognize graduating military-connected students and celebrate their accomplishments at the Fall 2026 Stole & Recognition Ceremony.
Stole & Recognition
Military & Veteran Programs recognizes graduating Texas Tech veterans, service members and eligible military family members through its stole and recognition program.
MVP began awarding camo stoles in spring 2011. Eligible graduating veterans and service members may receive a military and veteran recognition stole as part of their graduation recognition.
Current ceremony dates, eligibility information, registration instructions and pickup information are announced through Military & Veteran Programs.

Stoles for Alumni, Faculty & Staff
Eligible Texas Tech alumni, faculty and staff who are veterans, active-duty service members or members of the Reserves or National Guard may also be able to purchase a military and veteran stole.
Funds raised through stole sales benefit MVP veteran and family member scholarship funds.
Stars & Stripes Lounge
The Stars & Stripes Lounge is a dedicated study and social space for active-duty service members, veterans, military family members and students who support the veteran community.
Texas Tech opened the lounge in spring 2014. It is located in the west basement of the Student Union Building beneath the Raider Depot Campus Store.

Student Veterans of America

The Texas Tech University Student Veterans of America, or TTU SVA, is a student organization dedicated to camaraderie, honor, commitment and service within the campus community.
The organization brings together veterans, active-duty service members and supporters of Texas Tech's military-connected community while providing opportunities for involvement, peer connection and service.
Purpose
- Camaraderie & Fellowship: Build a welcoming community for U.S. military veterans, active-duty service members and supporters.
- Academic & Social Success: Connect members with peer support and opportunities that contribute to success at Texas Tech.
- Service & Leadership: Encourage leadership on campus and service within the Texas Tech and Lubbock communities.

Membership
Members of Texas Tech Student Veterans of America are expected to:
- Be currently enrolled at Texas Tech University or one of its satellite campuses.
- Demonstrate an active interest in supporting military and veteran students and their families.
- Treat other members and members of the university community with respect.
- Remain in good standing with Texas Tech University.
- Represent the organization and Texas Tech University in a positive manner.
