Lubbock Cemetery Medal of Honor Recipients
The Congressional Medal of Honor is the nation's highest award for valor by U.S. service personnel. Only 3,535 medals have been awarded to our nation's bravest armed forces personnel since the award was created in 1861. This presentation will provide an overview of the medal's history, focusing on the three recipients who are buried at the City of Lubbock Cemetery.
Instructor Sally Abbe has served on the Lubbock Heritage Society Board and is survey chair of the Lubbock County Historical Commission.
