The Southwest Collection

The Southwest Collection.

The Southwest Collections/Special Collections Library at Texas Tech University is a vital resource for research. Key collections of regional, national and international significance will be described through interesting stories. Participants will learn about the global reach of the archive and what they can personally preserve and potentially donate to benefit future research.

Instructor Monte L. Monroe, Ph.D., was appointed the official Texas State Historian in 2018, 2020 and 2023. He is archivist of the Southwest Collection and recipient of the David B. Gracy II Award for Distinguished Archival Service by the Texas Historical Records Advisory board.
