Overview

The Texas Tech University Physics Education Research Group presently consists of Prof. Beth Thacker, postdoctoral researcher Amir Bralin and three graduate students, Mahamadu Duut, Emmanuel Ebom and Anton Kononenko. They are working on developing evidence-based materials and researching students' strengths and difficulties in an upper-level undergraduate Quantum Computing (QC) course, quantum workforce development, and graduate students' understanding of quantum mechanics concepts. Other recent projects have included assessing students' thinking skills across pedagogies, assessing pedagogical content knowledge (PCK) of Learning Assistants (LAs), and exploration of student understanding of symmetry and conservation laws at the graduate level.
