The Center for Transformative Undergraduate Experiences (TrUE)
TrUE works to support the development, enhancement, and scaling of high-impact educational practices (HIP) for undergraduate students across Texas Tech University, hosts one of the nation's largest interdisciplinary undergraduate research conferences, and supports Red Raiders through the entire continuum of Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities (URCA) during their time at TTU.
STEM Core
STEM Core is all about integrating and deepening the impact of STEM education, outreach, and research in West Texas and the Lubbock region. They support grant proposal writing and impact consultations, develop and equip the STEM community on campus, engage in strategic K-12 outreach, and serving as a central hub to coordinate STEM activities across campus.
Center for the Integration of STEM Education & Research (CISER)
Established in 1992 within the College of Arts and Sciences, CISER is dedicated to integrating science education and research. Initially funded by the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, CISER has evolved into a university-supported undergraduate research program committed to breaking down barriers to research and cultivating innovation. They foster STEM education, strengthen alumni connections, and create opportunities for meaningful collaboration across disciplines.
Honors College Undergraduate Research Scholars (URS)
The Honors College Undergraduate Research Scholars (URS) program offers Day One paid research to any Honors undergraduate student - from all majors - by partnering students with research active faculty at the TTU and TTUHSC campuses. Honors students can follow their passions, delve more deeply into their field, or try a new academic pursuit through a formal mentoring relationship with faculty.
The McNair Scholars Program
Supported through a TRIO grant from the U.S. Department of Education and initially funded at TTU in 2017, the McNair Scholars program supports both academic and professional success for qualifying first-generation and low-income students. McNair prepares scholars for doctoral studies through involvement in research and other scholarly activities, hosts a series of workshops on the research process, provides research and travel funding for conferences and graduate school visits, and pairs students with faculty research mentors, who partner to complete a research project and help navigating the culture of academia.
