Targeted External Awards for Faculty

The Offices of the Provost and Research & Innovation are offering incentives for receiving the awards below. For a description of the incentives and the details of the award incentive program, please read this memo.

An expedited faculty development leave procedure will be used when faculty receive one of the targeted external awards. Details can be found here.

If you get an award that is eligible for relocation expenses, please send a request with the name and date of the award you received to Genevieve Durham and Stephanie J. Jones. You will be asked to complete a form with an itemized budget and justification.

Eligible Awards

I. Awards Classified as "Highly Prestigious" by the National Academies and recognized by the AAU are separated by taxonomic field. There are too many to list here. Please refer to the spreadsheets listed below. PLEASE NOTE: The spreadsheets list both Highly Prestigious and Prestigious awards. Only the Highly Prestigious awards are eligible for the incentives described in the memo:

Important Information: Early-career faculty who hold tenure-track appointments. Applicants may submit their own materials. Online application must include research plan, educational plan, and statement on how the applicant will become an outstanding teacher-scholar with strong academic citizenship skills.
