Dr. Walker is a professor in the Department of Civil, Environmental, and Construction Engineering at Texas Tech University, and he serves as the Director of the Water Resources Center.  Dr. Walker teaches courses in the topics of water and wastewater engineering, aqueous chemistry, and physical/chemical treatment processes, and his research focuses on sustainable drinking water treatment, especially high recovery inland desalination, potable reuse, and reuse of treated produced water.  

Dr. Walker received a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Texas Tech University, and he received M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Environmental & Water Resource Engineering (Civil Engineering) from the University of Texas at Austin.  Dr. Walker was previously a professor at The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) and Director of the Center for Inland Desalination Systems (CIDS).  Dr. Walker is the proud husband of his high school sweetheart and the proud father of four children.
