Dr. Grant Tinsley is an Associate Professor and Director of the Energy Balance & Body Composition Laboratory at Texas Tech University. He earned his Ph.D. in Kinesiology & Exercise Nutrition after completing bachelor’s degrees in Nutritional Sciences and Physiology, as well as a master’s degree in Biomedical Sciences. He is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS,*D). His current research interests include the evaluation of body composition assessment techniques, the influence of energy balance manipulations on resistance training adaptations, and sports nutrition strategies to improve body composition and performance. He has published over 130 peer-reviewed journal articles and directed 20 externally supported research projects. His research achievements have been recognized through several awards, including the Best Paper Award from the European Journal of Sports Science and the Nutritional Research Achievement Award from the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
