Student Success Specialist
Be the person you needed when you were younger.
I work to support students in the College of Education by providing resources, assessing
for areas of support, and getting students plugged into the campus. My goal is to
ensure every student feels like they can succeed at Tech, especially if they are facing
obstacles on campus or in their personal life.
After my undergrad, I completed two years of service with AmeriCorps at a middle school
in Wilmington, DE. When that program ended, I went to graduate school. During graduate
school, I worked as a graduate assistant for my school's Student Disability Services
department, where I supported students seeking academic, dietary, and housing accommodations.
When I completed my master's program, I worked for two years as a school social worker
in a middle school in Fort Worth, providing case-management services and crisis intervention
to students and their families.
I love playing with my dogs, playing video games, reading, and hanging out with friends.

Years at TTUAsk me about:
The best thing I was involved in at Tech.
My sorority! It gave me tools to be a leader and gave me the opportunity to make friends and feel connected to something while at Tech. One of my favorite memories at TTU was serving as a Rho Gamma for Panhellenic.
What I would be doing if I wasn't so good at my job.
A consultant for Walt Disney World's Imagineering department! I am a big fan of the Disney Parks and am always thinking about ways to improve the parks thematically, logistically, and physically
The best piece of advice I've been given.
Behavior is a communication of needs. If someone is behaving a specific way, they likely need something that they do not have the tools or method to communicate to you or to others.
Something cool about Lubbock.
First Friday Art Trail is free and so much fun! It's probably my favorite Lubbock activity.
My Academic Journey
My college experience was very difficult for me. I struggled a lot with finances, finding my fit with friend groups, and figuring out what I wanted to do with my life. I felt like I was struggling all alone, I didn't know my resources, and I didn't know who to reach out to for help. Of course, I have a lot of fond memories and fun moments to look back on, but I also look back and see a student who needed guidance. I feel honored to be someone at Texas Tech who can recognize students like me and say “Hey! Here's some next steps you can take.”
