Meet Isai

Hola, y'all! My name is Isai Diaz and I'm from Midland, Texas. I'm proud to be a born-and-raised West Texan. I transferred to Tech from Midland College, and I'm majoring in political science with a minor in journalism. Outside of school, I love keeping up with college and professional football (I'm a Cowboys fan), watching documentaries, and playing the drums (cumbia is my favorite style to play). I'm passionate about exploring different places, cultures, and languages. In addition to speaking English and Spanish, I'm currently learning Portuguese. After Portuguese, I'd like to learn either Nahuatl or Guarani next.

So far, I've only been involved in one organization at Tech--Transfer Techsans, which is an organization for transfer students and non-traditional students. I plan on joining one or two more student organizations this upcoming year so that way I can make the most of my college experience. I also regularly attend Red Raider football and basketball games.My favorite memory at Texas Tech has been watching our team kick the game-winning field goal in overtime against UT and then rushing the field afterward.
