Behavioral Health Services

The Primary Care Providers at Student Health Services treat mild to moderate behavioral health conditions such as anxiety, depression, OCD, PTSD, etc. Severe or more complicated conditions are referred to the TTUHSC Psychiatry Department for evaluation and management.

Student Health Services and the Student Counseling Center are separate departments located within the same building. Student Health Services is located on the 1st floor of the Student Wellness Center, and the Student Counseling Center is located on the 2nd floor. Although two separate departments, Student Health Services and the Student Counseling Center work together to ensure students receive the best care possible.

How to access behavioral health services:

If you are interested in medication, call Student Health Services at 806.743.2848.

If you are interested in counseling, call the Student Counseling Center at 806.742.3674.

What is the cost to receive behavioral health services at Student Health Services?

Billing for behavioral health services is handled in the same way as most other clinic services offered at Student Health Services. If a student presents health insurance, we will check eligibility for services and, if the services are eligible, will send the claim to insurance. Any outstanding co-payments, co-insurance or deductibles will not be charged to the student since Student Health Services considers these costs already covered by the Medical Service Fee.

For uninsured students or students with insurance that is not eligible for behavioral heath services, Student Health will apply all charges to their Student Business Services tuition account at a 60 - 70% discounted rate.
