Behavioral Health Services

TTU Student Health Services is committed to caring for the whole student during their academic journey.  Along with the traditional array of primary care services, our clinic offers integrated behavioral health services to assist students with mental health concerns.

Our behavioral health team is composed of primary care physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurse case managers, and licensed mental health counselors. We are here to support your mental health with assessment, treatment, and referral. We offer onsite and telemedicine behavioral health services.

How do I access behavioral health care?

Behavioral health services may be accessed in a number of ways. If you have not yet established with a TTU Student Health medical provider, please call or visit our clinic to speak with a nurse case manager. You will be triaged and connected to the appropriate service. If you are already an established patient, please schedule an appointment with your provider to discuss your mental health care concerns. You may also consult with a nurse case manager to be connected to the appropriate service.

Do you offer psychiatry services?

TTU students who need assistance with acute, severe, or complicated mental health problems may be referred to specialty psychiatry services. We partner with Mantra Health and Department of Psychiatry at TTU Health Sciences Center to offer students virtual and in-person psychiatry services.

Do you offer counseling or therapy services?

TTU students seeking counseling services only (no medication), may call the Student Counseling Center at (806) 743-3674.

Please note that while the TTU Counseling Center and TTU Student Health Services are conveniently located in the same building, we are separate departments.

TTU students who are established in our clinic may seek counseling services with a TTU Student Health behavioral clinician. Our behavioral providers offer evidence-based treatments for conditions such as depression, anxiety, posttraumatic disorder, and substance use disorders, that when combined with medical attention, may accelerate your healing.

What is the cost of behavioral health services at TTU Student Health?

Your medical insurance will be billed for services you receive at TTU Student Health. We will check your health insurance for eligibility and will send the claim to your insurance. You will not be charged any outstanding co-payments, co-insurance, or deductibles, as these costs are covered by the wellness fee billed to your Student Business Services account each semester. Self-pay students or students with insurance that is not eligible for services, will receive a 70% discount on medical services.
