AQUATICS

We offer a variety of features and amenities year-round from:

Facilities:

Leisure Pool

• • • • Open seasonally from approximately April through mid-October, weather and operational conditions permitting.
      • Float the lazy river. The lazy river opens daily at 1:00pm Monday–Friday and is open during posted operating hours on Saturday and Sunday.
      • Innertubes and mats are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
      • Sunbathing and lounge seating available throughout the wet deck area.
      • Dedicated eight-lane lap swimming pool available during posted hours.
      • 25-person spa available during Leisure Pool operating hours.

Aquatic Center

• • • • Open seasonally from approximately mid-October through April.
      • 50-meter competition pool with end-to-end lap swimming capability.
      • 25-yard lap lanes available at varying depths.
      • Shallow recreation area includes a basketball hoop and climbing wall.

Facility availability and amenity operations may vary due to staffing, weather, maintenance, programming, or special events. Please reference the Hours page for current operational schedules.

Family Hours:

• Children under the age of 17 can only be at the Aquatic Center/Leisure Pool during the alloted family hour timeframes. Dates and times for Family Hours (FH) can be found under the “Hours” tab on the website.

Food & Beverage Policy:

On a restricted basis, Texas Tech University Recreation allows patrons to bring their own food and beverages into Aquatic facilities. As our guest, you have three options for consuming food and beverage within the aquatic facilities. You may:

1. Bring your own food and beverages within the restrictions listed below.

2. Use the vending machines, located inside the Rec Center on the 2nd floor.

Restrictions

• No alcohol or glass containers are allowed.
• No grilling within Aquatic facilities.
• Beverages:Non-flavored/non-carbonated water in sealed, plastic bottles is preferred.
  • Other liquids (ice tea, coffee, soda) are allowed.
  • Sealed, single-serving juice boxes or pouches.
  • Formula/baby food.
  • Items necessary for medical purposes.
• Bags and coolers are permitted in the facility and are subject to inspection by University Recreation staff.
