CPR Certification Classes

University Recreation offers American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED classes. These classes provide individuals and groups with essential life-saving skills. These courses focus on clear instruction and hands-on practice to help you respond confidently in an emergency. All class options follow OSHA’s Best Practices for Workplace First Aid Training Programs.

Classes use a blended learning format. Participants must complete approximately 2 hours of online coursework before attending the in-person session. After successfully completing all requirements, you will receive an Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED certification valid for 2 years.

Certification Requirements

Participants must:

  • Complete all online coursework before in-person class
  • Attend the full in-person class
  • Take part in all skills practice and scenarios
  • Show proficiency in required skills
Class Options
Make-Up / Refund Policy

Make-ups are not offered if a participant is not able to make the scheduled class or for inclement weather. If inclement weather cancels a class, those affected will be contacted with more information. Except as otherwise stated, refunds or credits will not be issued after payment has been made.

Exceptions include:

  • If the activity, class, or program is canceled by Texas Tech University Recreation.
  • If a participant is injured or unable to participate due to a documented medical reason.

Refund requests outside the stated exceptions may be considered on a case-by-case basis. Refunds are made at the discretion of the Associate Director of Aquatics. Please submit a request HERE .

PUBLIC CPR CLASS

Summer 2026 CPR Class will be held on Thursday, July 30 from 6pm-9pm.

Private CPR class requests are being accepted.
