University Recreation Media Policy
Texas Tech University Recreation strives to model a welcoming and supportive environment by positively impacting the well-being of the Red Raider community. To support this effort, the following guidelines apply to those seeking to take photos and/or video footage in University Recreation facilities and spaces.
Unwanted recording, photography, and other multimedia of patrons are not permitted in Unversity Recreation facilities and programs. Employees of Campus Recreation reserve the right to monitor multimedia and social media activity and regulate/restrict it as they see fit.
Student and Recreation member Photo and Video Policy
Current Texas Tech students, Unversity Recreation members, and invited guests may take photographs and videos using cell phones. If equipment other than a cell phone is being used such as tripods, lighting, larger cameras or other equipment, please complete the following Social Media request.

Consent
If photos/video are taken of students and/or members utilizing spaces and their faces are prominently displayed, the patron(s) should be asked if they approve of their image and likeness being used, photographed, videoed, etc. Patrons should be notified of the intent of photos/video (classwork, marketing, social media, online, etc.). If a University Recreation staff member is available in the facility or space being used, they should be notified of the use of photography and videography.
Youth Media Policy
No photography or filming of children is permitted unless the express consent of their parent/guardian is obtained prior to the photo/video being taken. For additional policies reguarding youth programs, please refer to Texas Tech Operating Policy 40.09.
Locker Room, Changing Room, and Restroom Restrictions
Texas State Law Section 21.15 prohibits a person from photographing or videotaping in areas like bathrooms, changing rooms, and areas where a person has a reasonable expectation of privacy. Any violation of this law will be sent to the Texas Tech University Police Department.
