University Recreation offers a variety of membership options for the Texas Tech community and their families. We also have opportunities for the greater Lubbock community to join the University Recreation family. Check out our different membership options and all that we offer below!
A membership with University Recreation gives you access to:- 242,000+ square feet of indoor fitness space
- 30+ included group fitness classes each week
- Indoor Climbing Center with 53 ft. tall rock wall
- The Leisure Pool featuring a 645-foot lazy river, lap swimming, and water slide
- Indoor Aquatic Center for year-round swimming

The Leisure Pool is Now Open!
Thank you for your patience as we have worked to resolve the mechanical repairs needed to provide you with the experience you deserve at the Leisure Pool. As a thank you, we would like to offer two tokens of our appreciation:
1) All student spring memberships to the Rec and Leisure Pool have been extended through May 31, 2026.
2) One complimentary guest pass for a day with promo code SPLASH26. This code is eligible for one use per student/member and must be used before August 23, 2026.

Pricing Information
Undergraduate on campus
If you are currently taking at least one hour of in-person classes, you have paid the University Recreation fee through your tuition and fees. You will have access to University Recreation facilities for the semester that you are currently enrolled in.
Distance Learning
If all of the classes you are currently enrolled in are online, you have not been charged a University Recreation fee through your tuition and fees. To access University Recreation facilities, you will need to pay the fee. Semester membership cost is prorated by 50% mid-semester. The two payment options are:
- Use the Elect-to-Pay online option that adds the charge back to your tuition and fees.
- Purchase a semester membership in-person.
Teaching/Research Assistants
If you are a graduate student with a Teaching Assistantship or Research Assistantship, your University Recreation fee is applied and then waived from your host department. To access University Recreation facilities, you will need to pay the fee. Semester membership cost is prorated by 50% mid-semester. The two payment options are:
- Use the Elect-to-Pay online option that adds the charge back to your tuition and fees.
- Purchase a semester membership in-person.

All patrons need to bring their driver's license and proof of affiliation with one of these categories in order to purchase a membership.
Annual Memberships
All annual memberships are now valid for an entire calendar year! Your membership is now valid for 365 days after purchase. Purchasing an annual membership saves you $80 over the monthly price as a Campus Member.
Monthly Memberships
Interested in a membership only for the summer months? You can purchase multiple months of the monthly membership at one time. Perfect for cooling off at the Leisure Pool!
Can I get a membership for my spouse or dependants?
Yes, Campus members can purchase memberships for their spouse and dependents (17+ years old) at the Campus membership rate. To purchase a spouse membership, the spouse will need to bring their photo ID. Dependants 4 - 16 years old are eligible for a dependant membership. Dependants 3 and under do not require a membership to enter University Recreation facilities.

University Recreation members are eligible to rent a locker. Locker rentals can be done during open facility hours. Pricing is as follows.

University Recreation allows members to bring up to 4 guests with them. Each guest will need to purchase a guest pass. The sponsoring member must be present at time of purchase. Guest passes are available for purchase when entering University Recreation facilities during open hours. For complete guest pass policies, refer to our department policies.

Guest Pass Prices
Adult daily guest pass: $12.00. Child (ages 4-16) daily guest pass: $8.00. Children 3 and under are still free.
