Annual membership renewals

Annual membership and locker rentals expire on August 8th, 2021. Annual renewals will start on Monday, May 17th, 2021. There are a couple of ways to renew:

  • If you are on payroll deduction, your membership will automatically renew, so you do not need to do anything. If you want to make any changes - add or drop a member or locker - you will need to come in to the Main Office (Room 202) during business hours (Monday - Friday from 8:00a - 6:00p) to complete a new payroll deduction form.
  • In person with a credit card in the University Recreation Main Office (Room 202) during business hours (Monday - Friday from 8:00a - 6:00p)
  • Online with a credit card at http://register.recsports.ttu.edu

To renew online, please follow these steps:

  • Go to http://register.recsports.ttu.edu 
  • Login with your credentials or create an account if it's your first time on the portal
  • Click on the 3 lines at the top left of the screen and select Programs from the dropdown list
  • Under Classification, click on Membership Renewal & under Semesters, click on Summer 2021
  • Click on the applicable membership or locker type
  • On the next page, click Register
  • Select the family member to register from the prompt box and the membership or locker will be added to your cart
  • You can continue shopping to add more items to renew or checkout

For questions about your current membership status, please call our Membership Office Monday - Friday from 8:00am - 6:00pm at 806-742-3351.  The office is located in Room 202 of the Rec Center.

I AM A...

Student

Undergraduate On-Campus

If you are currently taking at least one hour of in-person classes, you have paid the University Recreation fee through your tuition and fees.  You will have access to University Recreation facilities for the semester that you are currently enrolled in.

Distance Learning Student

If all of the classes you are currently enrolled in are online, you have not been charged a University Recreation fee through your tuition and fees.  To access University Recreation facilities, you will need to pay the fee.

  • Pay the fee at University Recreation Monday through Friday from 8:00am - 6:00pm.
  • Or use the Elect-to-Pay online option that adds the charge back to your tuition and fees.  
Semester Student Fees Rate
Student Semester Fee $100
Student Spouse Fee $50
Student Child (ages 4-16) $35

These fees will be pro-rated towards the middle of the semester.  Please check with the Membership Office for specific dates and prices.

Teaching Assistants/Research Assistants

If you are a graduate student with a Teaching Assistantship or Research Assistantship, your University Recreation fee will be waived. To access University Recreation facilities, you will need to pay the fee.

  • Pay the fee at University Recreation Monday through Friday from 8:00am - 6:00pm.
  • Or use the Elect-to-Pay online option that adds the charge back to your tuition and fees.

Campus Member

Who qualifies as a Campus member?

  • TTU Faculty/Staff
  • TTU Retirees
  • HSC Employees
  • Campus Ministries Staff
  • USDA Employees

Patrons will need to bring their driver's license & proof of affiliation with one of these categories in order to purchase a membership.

Can I get a membership for my spouse & children?

Yes, Campus members can purchase memberships for their spouse and dependents (17+ years old) at the Campus membership rate. To purchase a spouse membership, the spouse will need to bring their driver's license and proof of marriage (marriage license, shared bank statement, etc.). Children 4 - 16 years old are eligible for a Child membership. Children 3 and under do not require a membership to enter the University Recreation facilities.

How can I pay for a membership?

University Recreation has moved to a cashless system. Purchases can be made using a debit/credit card to pay in full.

Payroll Deduction is another option. A down payment is required in order to start payroll deduction. May 31st is the last day to start a new payroll deduction for the current year. University Recreation now offers continuous payroll deduction so your membership will continue and be automatically renewed. In order to cancel payroll deduction, call the Main Office at 806-742-3351.

Off-campus member

Who qualifies as an Off-Campus member?

  • Texas Tech Alumni
  • Alumni Association Members (Anyone can become a member of the Texas Tech Alumni Association!  Click here for more information!)
  • Government Employees
  • School District Employees
  • University Medical Center Employees
  • Military

Locker rentals

University Recreation members are eligible to rent a locker. Locker rentals can be done in the Membership Office Monday - Friday from 8:00a - 6:00p or at the Equipment Issue desk during open facility hours. 

What if I just need a locker for the day?

There are a few lockers designated for day-use in the main Men's Locker Room and the Women's Locker Room. Patrons can bring their own lock or rent a lock from the Equipment Issue desk for $0.50.

There are banks of day-use lockers throughout the building with electronic locks built in. These lockers are free for patrons to use. Patrons can create their own 4 digit combination to lock and unlock the locker. 

Day-use lockers need to be cleaned out by closing time each day. University Recreation staff will clear out any day-use lockers that are still occupied once the building closes.
