Lending Library Policies & Procedures

Anyone affiliated with Texas Tech University and having a valid R # is eligible to check out items from the Edna Maynard Gott Memorial Library. Borrowing from our library is free and a maximum of two items may be checked out at one time.

The checkout period for all items is three weeks. If you need additional time, please call or e-mail to request an extension. If no one is waiting for the item, a three-week extension may be granted.

Getting Materials

Borrowers can visit the lending library in the Women's Studies office located in DRANE Hall room 259. Contact the Coordinator in room 258 for access.

A lending library checkout sheet must be filled out completely for each item borrowed from the library. The borrower must furnish two phone numbers or points of contact on the form — business phone, home phone, cell phone, fax or e-mail.

Returning Materials

All materials must be returned to the Women's Studies office in DRANE Hall room 259.

Overdue Notices

Overdue notices will be sent after the four weeks after checkout, when materials are one week overdue. If items are still not returned after three notices or contacts, you may be charged a replacement fee.

Loss of Borrowing Privileges

Consistent late returns or damaged returns by a consumer may result in the loss of borrowing privileges.

Borrower responsibility

Each borrower assumes full responsibility for all items borrowed and for adhering to library policies concerning loan periods. The Women's Studies Program may charge up to the full cost of the item at time of purchasing for any items that are lost, stolen or damaged.
