Graduate Certificate

The Graduate Certificate in Women’s & Gender Studies can be pursued independently or alongside another graduate degree. Students may also apply WGS courses toward their major or minor field of study, with approval from their department and the WGS advisor.

Master’s Students

Doctoral Students

WGS graduate coursework can qualify as a minor field (15 hours) for doctoral students. When selected, WGS must be included in qualifying exams and represented on the student’s doctoral committee. Individual WGS courses may also count toward major field requirements with advisor approval.

Interdisciplinary Studies (M.A.)

Graduate-level WGS courses may also fulfill requirements in interdisciplinary programs such as Ethnic Studies, Comparative Literature, and Fine Arts. One of the three required subject areas may include Women’s & Gender Studies.
