Undergraduate Application Fee Waivers

The Office of Undergraduate Admissions supports a Fee Waiver program for qualifying students. This waiver covers the cost of Application to Texas Tech University.

To qualify, an applicant must be a United States Citizen, permanent resident, or a student identified under Senate Bill 1528 (79th Legislature, 2005) as a resident of Texas. International applicants do not qualify for this fee waiver. Students seeking a post baccalaureate undergraduate degree or applying as non-degree seeking do not qualify for this waiver.

Additionally, an applicant seeking to qualify for the fee waiver must demonstrate that the application fee presents a significant financial hardship.

Texas Tech no longer accepts outside fee waivers for undergraduate applications, including ACT, SAT and NACAC.

To qualify for a fee waiver, freshmen and transfer students should complete one of the following options:

1. Completion of the FAFSA, which indicates eligibility though verified income. Please note: eligibility requirements differ between freshman and transfer students. Freshman must meet the free/reduced price lunch requirement set by the USDA; transfer students must have an Estimated Family Contribution of zero dollars ($0), as calculated by FAFSA. (No need to send in the SAR or request form when using this option; we receive that information through the FAFSA). Student must designate Texas Tech as a receiving school when completing FAFSA; or

2. Completion of the Application Fee Waiver Request Form and submission of the supporting documentation under one of these options:
