Susan Talkmitt Motivator Award

The Susan G. Talkmitt Science Motivator Award is given to science educators who have made an outstanding and positive impact on the science education for CISER undergraduate Scholars. This annual award was created by scholars and the recipient is selected by a committee of the TTU/ HHMI Scholar Service Organization (SSO) executive officers and members. Scholars can nominate any precollege teacher, university professor, community member, or other influential individual (non-relative) who helped motivate and inspire the pursuit of science or science education as an undergraduate focus.


Criteria used to select the award recipient are as follows:
  • Pre-College Teacher
  • University Professor
  • Community Member
  • Other Influential Individual (non-relative) who helped motivate and inspire the pursuit of science or science education as an undergraduate focus.
 This award is presented annually at the TTU/ HHMI Research Celebration banquet each spring or the Skoog Cup Banquet each Fall. The recipient will receive travel expenses and a $200 honorarium.
