CISER Medical Mission Trips

Gary & Nancy Fish Medical Mission Trip

This gift was established in 2014 with generous contributions from Dr. Gary and Mrs. Nancy Fish. In conjunction with the TTU Department of Biological Sciences in the College of Arts &n Sciences, up to four CISER Undergraduate Research Scholars will be selected to accompany Dr. Gary Fish and his team, on annual medical mission clinics in Haiti and/or Guatemala. Travel expenses (airfare, lodging meals and other related expenses) will be covered up to allowed amount.

  • All current Scholars who have a valid passport and are excellent health are eligible.
  • Applicants must be able to travel for up to one week in the summer or over the winter break.

Since 2014, scholars have visited Haiti and Guatemala and have gain an impeccable experience learning on the ground and serving the people of these beautiful countries along side Dr. Fish.


Whetstone Medical Mission Trip

This gift was established in 2017 with generous support from Michael Whetstone, M.D., in conjunction with the Center for the Integration of STEM Education and Research (CISER) Undergraduate Research Scholar Program. A Scholar will be selected to accompany Dr. Whetstone and his team, on their annual medical mission surgery clinic in Mexico. Travel expenses from Dallas (airfare, lodging, meals and other related expenses) will be supported.

  •  All current Scholars who have a valid passport and are in excellent health are eligible.
  • Applicants must be able to travel from the middle of May. (Times can change every year)
