Martin Luther King Jr. Service Day

Join the Honors College (Jan. 15, 2024) this MLK Day as we come together to celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. King. By participating in service projects throughout Lubbock you will help to create a lasting change that will benefit and positively impact our community for years to come.
Please come to McClellan Hall on Jan. 15 at least 45-minutes before your volunteer time starts. You can sign-in for 3x house points, grab breakfast, and collect your Honors College MLK t-shirt. This year there are three different service opportunities:
- Lubbock Habitat for Humanity (38spots)
- 8am-3pm
- location: 3630 50th Street, Lubbock
- Help building fencing.
- MLK Day Project at the Volunteer Center (70 spots)
- 10am-12pm
- location: Broadway Church of Christ
- Help decorate Meals on Wheels Bags and cards of encouragement, making tie blankets, and other projects to benefit our non-profit partners.
- MLK Day with Roots, Lubbock Community Garden (14 spots)
- 10am-1pm
- location: 2109 Cedar Avenue
- Help expand the garden, moving mulch to make a pumpkin patch, and other gardening activities.
