Mission of CBHC:

The Children's Behavioral Health Clinic offers an innovative approach for providing affordable, high quality therapeutic services to children, adolescents, and families. Our diverse team of faculty supervisors and graduate student therapists utilize effective, contemporary therapeutic techniques to address client needs and promote healthy relationships.

Our primary focus is to support children, adolescents, and families during and following medical treatment. We are also home to revolutionary treatment and research projects designed to prevent PTSD and support recovery in children and adolescents by helping families address challenges related to medical trauma.

Providers at CBHC:

To maintain the highest quality of education and training, the Texas Tech University Couple, Marriage, and Family Therapy Program admits a small, select group of students annually to pursue Mater's or Doctorate degrees in Couple, Marriage, & Family Therapy. As a part of the rigorous program requirements, students conduct therapy sessions in the Children's Behavioral Health Clinic, the University Medical Center Oncology Clinic, and across pediatric units for hospitalized patients at University Medical Center. These clinical services are conducted under the guidance of faculty supervisors, who are practicing Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFT's) and recognized as board Approved Supervisors by the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT).
