AAEC Room 302

January 30th

Join us in this Study Abroad program to visit the largest market for the US agricultural exports. The program is aimed to provide students interested in international agribusiness and economic policy with an opportunity to learn China’s agricultural policy, experience firsthand the logistics of food production and transportation in China, and explore what it takes for US companies to succeed in China. This year the program will include trips to Shanghai, Beijing, Harbin, and Qingdao. Students will have the opportunity to visit a soybean farm, cherry orchard, tea plantation, oil crushing facility, sea food exporting company, and a deep water port for container ships in Shanghai. You will also be visiting the China branches of multinational agribusinesses and foreign service agencies to learn about international career options. Meeting with students in Chinese universities will help you gain new perspectives on current issues like trade tensions between US and China.  Cultural and tourist destinations include Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Shanghai Tower, coastal town Qingdao, and the Great Wall.
