Elizabeth McDaniel

Elizabeth has extensive experience living and working abroad in Spain, Germany, Italy and the Netherlands. She has been in the Office of International Affairs since 2007 and enjoys all aspects of her multi-faceted job. Elizabeth is a member of NAFSA Trainer Corps and regularly teaches workshops in international education.

Rachel Massey

Assistant Director, Study Abroad

Rachel Massey

Rachel Massey joined Texas Tech in 2015. She has traveled to 21 countries outside of the U.S. and lived overseas for more than 10 years, primarily in Indonesia and Qatar. Rachel earned a B.A. in Spanish and Sociology from the University of Virginia and studied abroad in Valencia, Spain. While earning a M.A. in Higher Education and Student Affairs from The Ohio State University, she helped to develop, lead, and research an international service-learning experience in Ecuador for undergraduate and graduate students.

As the Assistant Director, Rachel manages the Study Abroad team and provides leadership to advance the unit's goal of aligning activity and initiatives with TTU's academic mission.

Whitney Longnecker

Faculty-Led Program Administrator

Whitney Longnecker

As an undergraduate student, Whitney studied and interned abroad in London, England, and Hangzhou, China. Whitney's personal study abroad experiences ignited her passion for international travel and education abroad and in 2014, Whitney earned a M.A. in International Education from SIT Graduate Institute. During her graduate work, Whitney participated in a faculty-led study abroad program in Barbados and Trinidad and Tobago. Whitney has ventured to nearly 40 countries for professional work and personal travel.

As the Study Abroad Faculty-Led Program Coordinator, Whitney manages all aspects of Texas Tech faculty-led programs including advising and supporting faculty who are planning to take students abroad.

Donna Wright

Senior Study Abroad Advisor / Coordinator for the TTU Center in Sevilla

Donna Wright

Donna Wright is the Coordinator for the TTU Center in Seville, Spain. She has held this position since 2003. Donna has traveled extensively through Central and South America while accompanying her husband on military assignments for 20+ years. She attended the prestigious Defense Language Institute in Monterey, California and was the honor graduate of her class. In addition to classroom instruction, she lived in Panama, Mexico, El Salvador and Dominican Republic and added valuable language skills through immersion in the various cultures.

She has a degree in Spanish and spends summers in Spain assisting the TTU staff in Seville with the summer programs that use the TTU facility. During these months she is able to re-connect with the Spanish host families who provide housing for the students as well as note changes that occur from year to year in Seville.

Donna participated in the TTU Seville program during the fall 2001 semester as a student and has first hand experience to share with prospective students. Since she was a non-traditional student she offers valuable insight to parents as well.

Bethany Kuwitzky

Senior Study Abroad Advisor / Exchange Coordinator / Credit Coordinator

Bethany Kuwitzky

Bethany studied abroad twice while she was a student at Texas Tech. Her first time studying abroad, she studied in Central America for one month. Her second time abroad, she spent one year in Iceland at the University of Reykjavik. She was a Study Abroad Peer Advisor for the Office of International Affairs for three years. She enjoys advising students on their future study abroad experience.

Brian Selman

Senior Study Abroad Advisor

Brian Selman

Brian is the newest member of the Study Abroad team. He is originally from Burkeville, Texas, and obtained both B.A. and M.A. degrees from the University of Texas at Austin in academic areas related to Russia and its surrounding regions. Brian has participated in multiple study abroad programs, many of which were located in the Russian Federation, and lived in the Russian cities of Moscow, St. Petersburg, and Vladimir. His first study abroad experience as a teenager took place in Western Europe and gave Brian some perspective on the advantages and disadvantages of traditional study abroad locations. He enjoys discussing these and other topics with students, and Brian is committed to helping his advisees select programs most suited to their individual needs.
