Faculty Excellence Awards
Excellence in Research
The College of Arts & Sciences Excellence in Research Award recognizes a member of the College of Arts & Sciences faculty who has distinguished themselves and has achieved national or international recognition for their research or other creative activity. Awards will be presented to three faculty—one from each of the core disciplines of study in the College:
- Natural and Physical Sciences
- Social Sciences
- The Humanities
Excellence in Teaching
The College of Arts & Sciences Excellence in Teaching Award recognizes a member of the College of Arts & Sciences faculty who has demonstrated teaching excellence. The focus is less on their method of teaching but rather a sustained record of excellence that has been recognized by colleagues and students alike.
The College of Arts & Sciences Teaching Innovation Award recognizes a member of College of Arts & Sciences faculty who has distinguished themselves through innovative and creative approaches to teaching. Their approach to the classroom is original, innovative, and an approach that has had a noticeable and positive effect on their students' experiences.

Nominations for the 2019 College of Arts & Sciences Faculty Excellence Awards are closed and winners have been selected. They were recognized at the Innovators Reception Sept. 11 at McPherson Cellars along with the winners of the 2019 College of Arts & Sciences Staff Excellence Awards.
