Environmental and Energy Economics Program in Spain
ENVIRONMENTAL & ENERGY ECON AT THE SEVILLA CENTER
In Environmental Economics (ECO 3336), we will analyze the impacts of U.S. and European climate policies on the economy, as well as the environmental impacts of current economic patterns using economic models. In Energy Economics (ECO 3356), we will concentrate on regulation of international energy markets, and analysis of U.S. and European energy policies using economic models. There will be an emphasis on energy and environmental policies encouraging the use of renewable energy sources, such as biofuels, solar, wind and hydro power and contributing to clean energy production and climate change mitigation. Economic Research (ECO 4300) will be entirely online, and we will analyze economic issues in transportation and produce a literature review about the emerging issues in the field. Students are not required to take all three courses. They can take any two of the three courses and complete 6 credit hours of coursework.
There will be a trip to Gemasolar Thermosolar Plant in Seville, which is a unique
solar power plant that can provide an uninterrupted supply of electric energy with
zero emissions. The program also includes weekend excursions, such as a trip to Lisbon,
Portugal, Cordoba, Catedral de Sevilla,
Royal Alcázar of Sevilla, etc.
This program is open to all TTU Students.
