Financial Planning Academy at Kansas State University

The Financial Planning Academy will be held on campus at Kansas State University July 14 - 19, 2024. Students will stay overnight in the residence halls and participate in various on-campus activities. This is an excellent opportunity for students to get a feel for what college life is like at a top Division I university. 

Consistently rated as a top program nationally, the Department of Personal Financial Planning at Kansas State University is renowned for its education, research and thought leadership in financial planning. The department is home to nationally recognized undergraduate and graduate CFP Board Registered Programs, which allows bachelor's degree graduates to sit for the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ exam and the Accredited Financial Counselor ® exam. The program boasts a 100% employment rate for all undergraduate program graduates.

As a student, you will tackle both quantitative courses in planning for retirement, investments, tax, insurance, and estate planning, as well as courses focused on learning how to understand and help people. These courses include family relationships, financial counseling and love and money. A combined emphasis on understanding financial products and how they work, as well as the role of family in financial decisions, helps you build a solid foundation that prepares you to thrive in this in-demand profession with consistently high rates of career satisfaction.
