Financial Planning Academy at Texas Tech University

The New York Times says Texas Tech University has "arguably the best undergraduate financial planning program in the country." Students gain practical experience through professional residencies and practicum opportunities. State-of-the-art technology is used throughout the curriculum with over $5 million dollars in top financial planning software available to students in the PFP program. Personal financial planning firms often look to Texas Tech University when recruiting new talent.

Texas Tech's PFP faculty are nationally recognized for their contributions to the profession. Texas Tech boasts the largest faculty dedicated to financial planning in the country and many professors have experience as financial planning professionals. Of the fourteen faculty members, twelve hold a Ph.D., two are J.D.s, and ten are CFP® professionals. The program is registered with the CFP Board and provides curriculum that meets the educational requirements to sit for the CFP® Certification Examination.

Texas Tech Campus

Texas Tech is a Texas designated National Research University and a Carnegie-classified Highest Research Activity institution. Texas Tech is home to approximately 39,000 students and its beautiful campus is alive with activity all year long. From fall football games to the Carol of Lights in December, the spring flowers of Arbor Day and commencement in May, there is always something to do, see or experience when you are a Red Raider.

The Texas Tech Financial Planning Academy will be held on campus at Texas Tech University. Students will stay in the dorms and participate in a variety of on-campus activities. This is a great opportunity for students to get a feel for what college life is like at a top Division I university.

Who is this camp for?

This camp is for high school students interested in pursuing a career in business or financial planning. Participants must be entering their sophomore, junior, or senior year in high school.
