FAQs

Cost

The cost for camp, including all meals, activities, and housing, is $150 per camper (a $900 value) - a price made possible by the generous support from Charles Schwab Foundation. Participants will be responsible for their own travel arrangements to and from Columbus. Limited funding is available to offset the cost of Financial Planning Academy. See the application for additional information regarding hardship funding.

Parents

Absolutely. While we will highly discourage the use of cell phones during events and presentations, there will be plenty of time for you to connect with your student.

Who do I contact in the event of an emergency?
All Financial Planning Academy participants and parents will be given the contact information of all Financial Planning Academy staff. In case of an emergency during work hours (M-F, 8 am-5 pm), please call the Department of Human Sciences at 614-292-7645. During check-in, parents will be provided with a brochure containing more detailed contact information and information about the week of camp.

Are parents able to be involved with the camp?
During the week of camp, participants will be very busy competing in challenges and preparing for their presentations. We would love to have parents on campus to help with move-in/move-out and the Closing Session and Awards Presentation, which will take place Friday, July 1

Do I need to send extra money with my student?
All meals, snacks, and activities are included with the registration fee. Extra spending money is encouraged for additional items such as purchasing Ohio State gear or extra snacks.
