Conflict of Interest

The purpose of a Conflict of Interest policy is to provide guidance and protect the ethical and civic responsibilities of TTU and its mission.

A conflict of interest refers to a situation in which an employee’s financial, professional, or other personal considerations may directly or indirectly affect, or have the appearance of affecting, the employee’s judgment in exercising and duty or responsibility.

A conflict of interest exists when a designated official reasonably determines that a significant business or financial interest could directly and significantly affect the design, conduct, or reporting of externally funded research, service, or educational activities.
