Computers: What Goes on Inside?
How are your laptops or smartphones able to do all they do? After examining how computer-like devices worked for thousands of years, we will go inside a modern computer to see how 1s and 0s represent language, color, and sound, and how components communicate with each other. Then we delve deep into the processor, the computer's brain, and follow how it performs a simple math problem using logic gates, memory and a bus system. We will also peek into the future to see how quantum and DNA computers work.
