Early Access

All faculty will have access to Canvas starting after the course migration from Blackboard is completed in early Spring 2025. If you would like early access, please note that you will need to manually import content from Blackboard to Canvas. If you would like this migration done for you, please wait until Spring 2025.

There are two options available within the Canvas Early Adoption initiative:

Access Cohort (Registration Closed)
The access cohort begins in November 2024 and provides early access to Canvas for course transition. There is no specified deadline for course conversion and the option to provide feedback on the CCC process.

Faculty in this cohort will:

    • Be provided with the Canvas Course Conversion (CCC) documentation.
    • Have the option to choose to work with an Instructional Designer (ID).
    • Optional: Provide feedback on the CCC (documentation, course checklist) and ID support (if applicable).
    • This cohort is not associated with deadlines or a stipend.

Conversion Cohort (Registration Closed)

The conversion cohort requires a commitment starting in November 2024, involves testing and feedback on the Canvas Course Conversion (CCC) process, and a $250 stipend upon successful completion of a Canvas course by the end of April 2025.
Faculty in this cohort are expected to:

    • Follow the Canvas Course Conversion (CCC) process under the guidance of a designated instructional designer (ID).
    • Use the CCC documentation and choose the level of ID support you would prefer to convert your course from Blackboard to Canvas.
    • Provide feedback on the CCC (documentation and course checklist).
    • Provide feedback on your experience working with an instructional designer.
    • Have your course successfully completed in Canvas by April 2025.
