What is your favorite Texas Tech Tradition?

I love Arbor Day in the spring. It's fun to see the campus waking up after winter and the students, staff, and faculty working hard to beautify the campus by planting flowers. The music and free t-shirts are fun, too!

What is your favorite thing to do in Lubbock?

I enjoy First Friday Art Trail, where you can go to the arts district and view amazing art by local artists, hear live music, and try different food trucks.  I definitely recomend visting your student on a first Friday of the the month!  Lubbock also has a wonderful wine culture, with several local wineries.

What is your favorite local restaurant?

I love eating at local Lubbock restaurants! My favorites include La Diosa Cellars for tapas, Flipper's Tavern on Ave. Q for gourmet hotdogs, Mirch Masala on 34th for Indian food, Seoul Korean Cuisine on 50th Street, and Choo Chai right by campus on 19th and University—it's very spicy!

Tips for Parents & Family Members

Make sure you book hotel rooms early for events such as Family Weekend and Commencement. Hotels in Lubbock fill up very quickly!
