Call for Applications: Fellowship in Faculty Success

Texas Tech University’s Office of Faculty Success seeks applications for a Faculty Fellow to serve as
a part-time writing mentor for the 2026-2027 academic year. This Fellowship will begin on August
10, 2026 and will conclude on May 31, 2027 with an option for re-appointment with successful
annual evaluation.

About the Appointment

The Fellowship in Faculty Success is a .50 FTE (20 hrs/week), 9-month appointment intended to
provide the Fellow with administrative leadership experience specific to developing and
implementing programming and resources supporting faculty members in their writing for
publication, for external award applications, and for federal grant applications.


The Fellow can expect to interact with faculty members individually and in small groups, both in
person and virtually. The Fellow is expected to provide faculty members with support for their
writing efforts with a goal of expanding institutional successes in the following areas: 1)
publication of peer-reviewed articles in high-impact journals; 2) selection of TTU faculty for
external awards, and; 3) submission of competitive applications for federal awards.


Eligibility


Applicants for the Fellowship in Faculty Success must be tenured at the rank of Associate Professor
or Professor in one of Texas Tech University’s academic departments or schools. Applicants must
have a strong record of peer reviewed publication and/or a successful history of securing external
awards and/or federal grants. Experience in writing coaching, editing, or other writing mentorship
is preferred.


Application


The online application for the Fellowship in Faculty Success is posted on the Faculty Success
webpage. The application will open on Monday, June 8th with a deadline of June 30th for
applications to be submitted. Applicants must have support from their department chair, school
director, or area coordinator in order to be considered for this opportunity. 

Faculty Fellow Application


Miscellaneous:


The Office of the Provost will coordinate with the Fellow’s home department or school to provide
funding for instructional coverage needs resulting from the Fellow’s appointment. Upon
conclusion of the Fellowship, the Faculty Fellow will return to their full-time faculty duties in their
home department or school. The Faculty Fellow will formally report to Vice Provost for Faculty
