Welcome To The Human Research Protection Program

Texas Tech University is committed to protecting the rights and welfare of individuals participating in research. Texas Tech's Institutional Review Board (IRB) is charged with reviewing all human subjects research in accordance with federal regulations (45 CFR 46), state laws, and local and University policies (TTU OP 74.09).

The Human Research Protection Program (HRPP) serves as a liaison to the IRB and point of contact for participants and researchers.

Training

The Human Research Protection Program offers an Institutional Review Board Training for graduate students and faculty members who conduct human subject research. The training takes place over five sessions. Researchers who attend all five sessions will receive a Certificate of Completion for Texas Tech University Human Subject Training.

  • Data Collection and Privacy, Confidentiality & Security
  • Recruitment and Consent Procedures
  • After IRB Approval & Q&A
