Interpreter Request

This form is for students currently registered with Student Disability Services who need interpreter services for an approved academic activity on the Texas Tech University main campus.

If you are not registered with SDS and need an interpreter for an event, contact the department or organization hosting the event.

Before You Submit a Request

Please submit requests as early as possible so SDS has time to coordinate appropriate services.

• Events lasting less than three hours: Submit your request at least 72 hours in advance.
• Events lasting more than three hours: Submit your request at least three weeks in advance.
• Events outside Lubbock: Requests are considered individually based on the availability of interpreting services in that area.

Requests submitted with less than the required notice cannot be guaranteed.

If an interpreter is not available, SDS may consider another appropriate communication access option, such as realtime transcription or supportive technology.
