Student Disability Services (SDS) Scholarships

Applications for the 2017-2018 school year Student Disability Services scholarships are now closed. Applications for the 2018-2019 scholarships will open mid-spring of 2018. Check out our list of external disability-related scholarships in the meantime. 

NOTE: Printed copies of each application are also available in the Student Disability Services office at 335 West Hall.

Clyde and Ouida Black Scholarship

The Clyde and Ouida Black Scholarship is awarded to a student(s) who have an implanted listening device or use an assistive listening device such as an FM system or hearing aids. The student(s) must also be able to communicate orally. Priority will be given to incoming freshman or transfer students.

Connally S. Wheat Scholarship

The Connally S. Wheat Memorial Scholarship is awarded annually to a TECHniques Center student(s). The purpose of this scholarship is to make the specialized support of the TECHnique Center available to a student(s) with a documented learning disability(s). Student must be accepted to and/or currently enrolled in the TECHniques Center.

David R. and Brenda Hughes Nelson Scholarship

The David R. & Brenda Hughes Nelson Scholarship is awarded annually to a TECHniques Center student(s). The purpose of this scholarship is to finance the TECHniques Center for a qualified student(s). Financial need will be taken into consideration. Students must be accepted to and/or currently enrolled in the TECHniques Center program.

Olive-Pfluger Scholarship

The Olive-Pfluger Scholarship is awarded annually to a student(s) with a documented learning disability with priority given to a student(s) with attention deficit disorder. 

Solcher Family Scholarship

The Solcher Family Scholarship is awarded annually to a student(s) with a hearing impairment.

Alex C. Watkins Memorial Scholarship

The Alex C. Watkins Memorial Scholarship is awarded annually to one student that is registered with Student Disability Services.
