SDS & TC Scholarships Frequently Asked Questions
This FAQ page has been updated to reflect the recent changes in the scholarship application process. Please return to this page often for the most up-to-date information.
Q: Have I missed the application deadline for the 2026-2027 scholarship applications?
A: Scholarship applications for 2026-2027 are now open. Applications must be completed February 1, 2026.
Q: How do I apply?
A: The scholarship application is different than last year.
The Scholarship Universe System connects you to a pool of scholarships based on your eligibility. There is no longer a traditional application, simply answer a series of questions to be matched with opportunities. Be sure to log in periodically and continue answering questions until the deadline on February 1, 2026.
Below are a few steps you may follow to help you navigate the system:
Step 1 – Log into your account at ttu.scholarshipuniverse.com
- Use your eRaider login.
- If this is your first time logging in to Scholarship Universe, you may see a page asking you to confirm your contact information. If you see this page, click "I'm Ready," and move to the next step. Since the login process is connected to eRaider, your TTU email will always be the email used for Scholarship Universe communications, with no action required on your part.
Step 2 – Answer questions about yourself to create your personalized profile.
- Some data will be pre-populated based on information TTU already has.
- Be sure to answer as many questions as you can to get the best scholarship matches.
- You can navigate to the questions from the Dashboard by clicking the big green button at the top of the page that says "Qualify for more scholarships by clicking here" or clicking the Questions tab in the sidebar.
Step 3 – Review your matches and apply for scholarships!
- You may be taken to a third-party site and be asked to create an additional login to complete some outside scholarship applications.
- The deadline is February 1, 2026!
Q: Am I eligible to apply for SDS scholarships?
A: You must be a student currently enrolled at Texas Tech University and registered with Student Disability Services. You must be a full-time graduate or undergraduate student and attend courses on the main Texas Tech campus. You must also meet the criteria for the specific scholarship.
Q: Can I apply for scholarships if I have not yet had my initial intake with Student Disability Services (SDS)?
A: Students may apply for any scholarship for which they meet eligibility only once they have been approved for services and completed their registration with SDS. Contact your SDS counselor if you plan to apply for scholarships and need to schedule an intake meeting.
Q: Do I need to be enrolled as a full-time student?
A: Yes. You must be enrolled as a full-time student for all of our scholarships, unless you are in the last semester of your program.
Q: Can I apply for scholarships if I am part of TTUHSC?
A: TTU and TTUHSC are two separate entities. Unfortunately, students can only apply for our scholarships if they are eligible and are registered with SDS on the TTU main campus. However, TTUHSC has scholarship opportunities available on their TTUHSC Scholarships website.
Q: Can I physically mail scholarship applications to the SDS office?
A: No, all applications must be completed through the Scholarship Universe System.
