Q: Have I missed the application deadline for the 2024-2025 scholarship applications?

A: Scholarship applications for 2024-2025 are now open. All required documents must be submitted by 11:59PM on Friday March 29, 2024. Scholarships are awarded in May.

Q: Am I eligible to apply for SDS scholarships?

A: You must be a student currently enrolled at Texas Tech University and registered with Student Disability Services. You must be a full-time graduate or undergraduate student and attend courses on the main Texas Tech campus. You must also meet the criteria for the specific scholarship.

Q: Can I apply for scholarships if I have not yet had my initial intake with Student Disability Services (SDS)?

A: Students may apply for any scholarship for which they meet eligibility only once they have been approved for services and completed their registration with SDS. Contact your SDS counselor if you plan to apply for scholarships and need to schedule an intake meeting.

Q: Do I need to be enrolled as a full-time student?

A: Yes. You must be enrolled as a full-time student for all of our scholarships, unless you are in the last semester of your program.

Q: Can I apply for scholarships if I am a graduate student?

A: As long as you meet the criteria for the specific scholarship and are a student attending courses on the main TTU campus, you are able to apply.

Q: Can I apply for scholarships if I am part of TTUHSC?

A: TTU and TTUHSC are two separate entities. Unfortunately, students can only apply for our scholarships if they are eligible and are registered with SDS on the TTU main campus. However, TTUHSC has scholarship opportunities available on their TTUHSC Scholarships website.

Q: Can I physically mail scholarship applications to the SDS office?

A: Beginning this year, all application materials are submitted digitally via the application links located on the SDS & TC Scholarships Page.

Q: Do the essays have to be different if I am applying to multiple scholarships?

A: You do not have to create a completely new essay, but it must not be the same exact copy for each individual scholarship application.

Q: Can the same Recommendation Form be submitted for each scholarship?

A: You need one Recommendation Form for each scholarship. However, you can choose to designate the same recommender for multiple scholarships. The recommender will receive a link to the recommendation form via email.

Q: How do I know if my Recommendation Forms have been received?

A: Follow up with your instructor or other requested references, or feel free to email Stephanie Nelson at Stephanie.Nelson@ttu.edu.
