Jim Brown is the current Director of TexPrep (Texas Prefreshman Engineering Program)
at Texas Tech University in Lubbock. This is a summer STEM program for grades 6-12
sponsored by the Department of Mathematics and Statistics. He has been in charge of day-to-day operations for TexPrep since 2004, and the Director since 2017.
Mr. Brown has a B.A. (1985) and an M.S. (1989) in Mathematics from Texas Tech. He
has taught math since 1985 in junior high, high school, community college, and university
settings. He has taught math at Texas Tech since 2003.
