Unit Manager for External Relations and Outreach

The College of Media & Communication at Texas Tech University is seeking a full-time Unit Manager for External Relations and Outreach within the Department of Undergraduate Affairs. The Unit Manager will be responsible for covering the following essential duties:

  • Creates mentorship, career, internship, and service-learning opportunities for undergraduate students in the College of Media & Communication by building a network of local, regional, and national industry stakeholders.
  • Oversees the CoMC Career Fair, Career Development Conference and creates other professional development opportunities for CoMC majors.
  • Presents to prospective and current students and parents about career and professional development pathways.
  • Oversees content creation and dissemination of marketing materials related to student success, internships, alumni relations, and career opportunities.
  • Works with the Assistant Dean for Student Success and other college leaders about alumni and community outreach opportunities.
  • Responsible for maintaining travel report information on all off-campus external relations events focusing on industry and parent partnerships and providing weekly updates to the Assistant Dean for Student Success.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Affairs for the operations of the college's external relations and recruiting efforts as part of the college's strategic plan and mission.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree plus three years supervisory experience; OR a combination of education and/or supervisory experience to equal seven years.
