Reaching Audiences: Exploring Opportunities in Hispanic Media and Market Research

Bill Seitzler Bill Seitzler is a senior consultant at SmithGeiger, LLC, a custom media research and strategy firm headquartered in Los Angeles that serves all facets of the media industry. In his consulting work, Seitzler advises a broad range of media clients in the areas of online media, cable and broadcasting to provide a clear sense of how consumption patterns vary in relation to key content elements, daypart differences, purposive and casual consumption, and levels of engagement. Using a research-based approach, he works with clients to identify the key touch points, drivers, needs, and navigational paths to reach desired audiences. His specialty areas include branding, strategic planning, and weather storytelling.

Before he became a consultant, Seitzler worked for 20 years in the news business in both sports and news. He was news director for KXAN-TV and KXAM-TV, the NBC affiliates for Austin, Texas, and news director for KJRH-TV in Tulsa, Okla., WHEC-TV in Rochester, N.Y., and KAMC-TV in Lubbock. He started his career as the sports director for KAMC-TV and worked as the play-by-play announcer for KKAM, KLLL and other radio stations, serving as the voice of Texas Tech and Lubbock Christian University baseball and, briefly, for Texas Tech women's basketball.

Seitzler holds a bachelor's degree in journalism from Texas Tech University and serves on the National Advisory Board of the College of Media & Communication.
