The band New Kids on the Block first rose to fame in the late 1980's and early 1990's, and the band continues to resonate in the hearts of many fans. When it comes to “new kids on the block” at Texas Tech University, this staff member started in the summer of 2019 and quickly rose to the top of the employee chart. In the short time since Chelsea Baldwin joined the School of Law family, “Step by Step” she has made significant contributions to the Academic Success Program. Here are some concrete ways Chelsea has made a positive impact: she has designed and implemented new aspects of a comprehensive program of academic success; she distributed a study-buddy matching survey and matched a group of law students to help them develop another part of their “Hangin' Tough” support system; and she revamped the coordination of the tutoring program. Looking ahead, this staff member has a plan to create videos to cover some academic success topics so that law students will have an online library of resources. Finally, when sharing and/or implementing ideas, this staff member is respectful, cooperative, and effective in getting along with the diverse law school community. She is open to suggestions and enjoys brainstorming potential solutions to provide “Full Service” to all Texas Tech students.
