Janessa Walls truly served as the glue that kept much of the School of Law together when COVID-19 first hit. When the University first shut down and faculty had to quickly shift to emergency online teaching, she was instrumental in helping them learn how to set up their Spring 2020 final exams on Blackboard. And over the summer, she helped revamp the course schedule so that it accurately reflected the face-to-face courses, hybrid courses, and online courses. Throughout all this, she remained calm, focused, and committed to Texas Tech. She is the ultimate team player whose commitment to the School of Law and the University shines bright! Her vast knowledge and skills help illustrate her commitment to the School of Law and the University as a whole, she manages student records, she educates and advises law students on a regular basis about a wide variety of topics, from the registration process to final exams (during the School of Law's two-week final exam period, she is basically on call 24/7); she gathers course preference information from faculty, drafts the School of Law's course schedule for every term, and identifies curricular needs. The School of Law is so fortunate to have this staff member as a part of its team.
