Robert Stubblefield has played an extensive role in the development and recognition of the TTU Center at Junction and has regenerated excitement amongst the staff. He saw an opportunity for TTU Junction to be involved in educating adults and youth about the importance of protecting our environment. In part, this led to him taking part in obtaining several grants awarded to the center. He, along with his staff and the National Park Service, helped to develop Discovery Point Trail; a nature trail that is used as a curriculum unit for the Outdoor Learning Center. It focuses on the environment in areas of rainwater harvesting, best management practices, conservation, and the importance of protecting the watershed. He keeps everyone motivated and has earned their respect by maintaining a positive work environment with his supportive leadership.  He values the staff and recognizes them by appreciating the jobs they do. The staff is always supportive and eager to meet his expectations and that is reflected in a low employee turn-over with several employees having worked at the center for 15 plus years. He often says, “I am only as good as the people around me”.  This is true…but, working with someone like him inspires a person to be their best!
